Stopmotion (2024)
Directed by: Robert Morgan
Wow, what a film!
If you are a fan of horror that makes you feel disgusting and uneasy, then this is a film for you!
Although there have been many films that show the slow descent into madness an artist will go just to show the world their masterpiece. This is the first one that I have seen utilize stop-motion.
I would have never imagined this art form could be used to stir up so much dread and unease.
This movie truly brings the nightmares to life, and I haven't squirmed in my seat that much in a long time. I must say, a standing ovation is most certainly deserved for the creature design and stop-motion animation work.
I also found the characters well rounded out and portrayed. Aisling Franciosi and Caoilinn Springall pulled me right into this story and made me excited to follow them along into this descent into madness.
Another thing that must be highlighted is the film's sound and music. It does an absolute brilliant job at matching the horrific mind bending scenes playing out on screen. It truly matches the film's creepy aesthetic and imagery to a tee. It will bring you right to the doorstep of discomfort and the visuals will have you avoiding sleep for nights to come.
I Love this film and believe it could be one of the best of 2024.
